Planted
Week 2: Planted in the Word
July 13, 2025
Pastor Ryan Holt
Psalm 1:1–3 (NIV) Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers.
1. Your Source
Matthew 4:4 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’
Psalm 119:103 How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!
You can’t live strong if you’re feeding weak.
2. Planted People Are
Romans 10:17 Faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
Matthew 24:35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
Your position determines your production.
3. The Word
Romans 12:2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
You can’t be transformed by a Word you never consume.
2 Timothy 3:16–17 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God[a] may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
4. Daily
Joshua 1:8 Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.
You grow daily or you drift gradually.
The Word you plant today becomes the strength you stand on tomorrow.
