The Gift of Evangelism
5 Day Devotional
Day 1: Empowered to Share
Reading: Mark 16:15-20
Devotional: The Great Commission calls all believers to share the Good News. Just as Jesus empowered His disciples with signs and wonders, He equips us today with His Holy Spirit. Reflect on how God has gifted you uniquely. What “staff” has He placed in your hand? Whether it’s a talent, resource, or life experience, God can use it mightily for His kingdom. Remember, it’s not about your eloquence or ability, but about God’s power working through you. Today, ask God to show you opportunities to share His love, and trust that He will provide the words and courage you need.
Day 2: Overcoming Our Doubts
Reading: Exodus 4:1-17
Devotional: Moses felt inadequate when God called him, just as we often do. Yet God didn’t seek out the qualified; He qualified the called. What excuses are you making that prevent you from fully embracing God’s call on your life? Like Moses’ staff, God can use the ordinary things in your life for extraordinary purposes. Today, identify one area where you feel inadequate and surrender it to God. Ask Him to transform your weakness into a testimony of His strength.
Day 3: Living as Priests in God’s Kingdom
Reading: 1 Peter 2:9-12
Devotional: As believers, we are all called to be priests in God’s kingdom, representing Him to the world. This isn’t just about what we say, but how we live. Your life is a powerful testimony. How does your conduct reflect Christ to those around you? Consider the young girl in the sermon who boldly shared her faith through both words and actions. Today, focus on aligning your actions with your beliefs. Ask God to help you live in a way that makes others curious about the hope within you.
Day 4: The Power of Community
Reading: Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
Devotional: God doesn’t intend for us to walk our faith journey alone. He provides us with “Aarons” - fellow believers who support, encourage, and partner with us in ministry. Who has God placed in your life to come alongside you? If you can’t think of anyone, pray for God to reveal that person. If you do have a spiritual partner, take time today to encourage them and express your gratitude. Consider how you can deepen your spiritual friendships and create a community that spurs one another on in faith.
Day 5: Signs That Follow
Reading: Acts 3:1-10
Devotional: As we step out in faith, God confirms His presence through signs that follow. These may not always be as dramatic as healing the lame, but could be subtle changes in your life or the lives of those around you. Perhaps it’s newfound peace, restored relationships, or unexpected opportunities to share your faith. Reflect on the “signs” you’ve seen in your own life that confirm God’s work. If you’re struggling to see them, ask God to open your eyes to His movement. Today, journal about a time when you clearly saw God at work, and let that memory fuel your faith for what He will do next.
