Attitude Of Servitude

Introduction:

If serving is beneath you, then leadership is beyond you.
#BeGreat #PastorMarioSaid #SundaysAtTheHarvest —Pastor Mario

5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant —Philippians 2:5-7 (KJV)

You can’t have the mind of Christ without adopting the heart of a servant.

The Harvest Attitude Of Servitude:

1. We Serve With

12 After washing their feet, he put on his robe again and sat down and asked, “Do you understand what I was doing?
13 You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and you are right, because that’s what I am.
14 And since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet.
15 I have given you an example to follow. Do as I have done to you. —John 13:12–15 (NLT)

“Humility isn’t thinking less of yourself—it’s thinking of yourself less.” —C.S. Lewis

2. We Serve With

3 Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. 4 Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too. —Philippians 2:3-4 (NLT)

“If you’re too big to serve, you’re too small to lead.”

3. We Serve with

5 You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.
6 Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to.
7 Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form,
8 he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross. —Philippians 2:5-8 (NLT)

Obedience is the pathway to significance in the Kingdom.

Conclusion: The Invitation to Serve Like Jesus

11 The greatest among you must be a servant. —Matthew 23:11 (NLT)

Serving isn’t about being seen doing great things—it’s about being faithful when no one is watching.

  3. Recommit to a serving opportunity, not from obligation, but from obedience to Christ.
  4. Review my Personal Serving Code from last week and email to Pastor Mario.

Pastor Mario’s Serving Code:

  1. Never Serve Steak On A Trash Can Lid (Excellence)
How I deliver my service is just as important as the service itself — excellence and presentation matter.
“I will serve with excellence, because how I serve reflects who I serve.”

  2. I Am A King Serving Kings And Queens (Respect)
I will treat every person with respect, dignity, and honor, recognizing their God-given value.
“I will honor every person as royalty — made in the image of God.”

  3. Always Be Prepared (Preparation)
Excellence is not about perfection; it’s about doing whatever it takes, staying ready, living intentionally, and being spiritually equipped to offer myself in service to others.
“I will stay ready, spiritually equipped, and intentional in every act of service.”

  4. Win Hearts Before Winning Souls (Attitude)
I will be aware of how I make people feel, knowing that my attitude and presence can open or close the door to sharing Jesus.
“I will lead with love, knowing that how I make people feel matters more than what I say.”

Be Great Day – Information Paper

Saturday, May 31

What is Be Great Day?

Be Great Day is an opportunity for every attendee of Bahamas Harvest Church to step outside the walls of the church and demonstrate the love of Christ through acts of service. Whether big or small, every act of service makes a difference.

We’re encouraging you, your family, your friends, your small group, or your serving team to plan and complete a serving project on Saturday, May 31.

The goal is simple: show up, serve, and let the love of Jesus be seen through you.

Guidelines for Serving Projects:

Plan a project that can be done solo or as a group (family, friends, small group, serving team)
Project must be completed on Saturday, May 31
Project can range from 1 minute to 10 hours
Wear your Bahamas Harvest Church branded polo shirt or T-shirt while serving
Take photos and post on social media using the hashtag #BeGreat

Why Participate?
