INTRODUCTION
• Some Christians wish they were an only child.
• But if you belong to Jesus, you belong to everyone else who belongs to Jesus.
• If you are a

of Jesus, you need the of Jesus.

John 19: 25-27 (English Standard Version)
25 But standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. 26 When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, “Woman, behold, your son!” 27 Then he said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother!” And from that hour the disciple took her to his own home.

1. THE FAMILY OF JESUS IS A

FAMILY.
• That means we ask for help. Jesus did…
• That means we offer help. John did…

2. THE FAMILY OF JESUS IS A

FAMILY.
• “When you’re screwing up and nobody says anything to you anymore, that means they’ve given up on you.” (Randy Pausch)
• “We cannot become ourselves by ourselves.” (Thomas Merton)

3. THE FAMILY OF JESUS IS A

FAMILY.
• John never called himself by name. He called himself “the disciple Jesus loved.” See John 13:23, 19:26, 20:2, 21:7, 21:20.
• Jesus loves you so much He died on the cross, to present you to God whole and clean.

CONCLUSION
• There are no only children here.
• If you belong to Christ, you belong to the household of God.
