Multiplication Culture
“ 35 Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the Kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. 36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.” —Matthew 9:35-36
“ 37 Then he said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. 38 Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest fields.’” —Matthew 9:37-38
(1.) We will reach our Kingdom potential by creating a culture of multiplication
“ 8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” —Acts 1:8
“ 47 And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” —Acts 2:47
“ 1 A great persecution broke out against the church at Jerusalem, and all except the apostles were scattered throughout Judea… 4 Those who had been scattered preached the word wherever they went.” —Acts 8:1 & 4
“ 31 Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee and Samaria enjoyed a time of peace. It was strengthened; and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it grew in numbers, and lived in the fear of the Lord.” —Acts 9:31
“ 2 While they were worshipping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, ‘Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them. 3 So after they fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off.” —Acts 13:2-3
(2.) God has committed to us the ministry of reconciliation
“ 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’” —Matthew 28:18-20
“ 1 The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, 3 he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. 4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me… 5 You anoint my head with oil, my cup overflows. 6 Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” —Psalm 23
“ 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! 18 All of this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 20 We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us.” —2 Corinthians 5:17-20
