INTRODUCTION

When God calls us for bigger things, it can be scary. Bigger things and bigger dreams require full dependency on God as we step into the unknown. People live with fear every day which can paralyze us and hinder our ability to move forward.

Imagine your life without fear! Come and discover how Joshua conquered his fears through a strong dependency on God.

Big faith is confident obedience to the Word of God regardless of the circumstances or the consequences. God told Joshua to “be strong and of good courage; be not afraid.” (Joshua 1:9)

In this collection of talks, we will look at Joshua’s life and learn how to trust God more and fear less.

CONQUERING FEAR WEEK #6:

Decisions Dictate Your Destiny

“Don’t be deceived: God is not mocked. For whatever a person sows he will also reap, 8because the one who sows to his flesh will reap destruction from the flesh, but the one who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit.” —Galatians 6:7-8

“Pay careful attention, then, to how you walk — not as unwise people but as wise — 16making the most of the time, because the days are evil. 17So don’t be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.” —Ephesians 5:15-17

I. GET THE (9:1-13)

“For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. 14And no wonder! For Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.” —2 Corinthians 11:13-14

“You are of your father the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he tells a lie, he speaks from his own nature, because he is a liar and the father of lies.” —John 8:44

“The heart of the prudent getteth knowledge; and the ear of the wise seeketh knowledge.” —Proverbs 18:15

“Without guidance, a people will fall, but with many counselors there is deliverance.” —Proverbs 11:14

II. PRAY FOR (9:14-27)

“The one who trusts in himself is a fool, but one who walks in wisdom will be safe.” —Proverbs 28:26

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding; 6in all your ways know him, and he will make your paths straight.” —Proverbs 3:5-6

“We don’t drift in good directions. We discipline and prioritize ourselves there.” ― —Andy Stanley, Lead Pastor of Northpoint Church

III. FOLLOW GOD’S (10:1-27)

“Obscene and foolish talking or crude joking are not suitable, but rather giving thanks. 5For know and recognize this: Every sexually immoral or impure or greedy person, who is an idolater, does not have an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. 6Let no one deceive you with empty arguments, for God’s wrath is coming on the disobedient because of these things.” —Ecclesiastes 5:4-6

“All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, 17so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.” —2 Timothy 3:16-17

“How I love your instruction! It is my meditation all day long. 98Your command makes me wiser than my enemies, for it is always with me. 99I have more insight than all my teachers because your decrees are my meditation. 100I understand more than the elders because I obey your precepts. 101I have kept my feet from every evil path to follow your word. 102I have not turned from your judgments, for you yourself have instructed me. 103How sweet your word is to my taste —sweeter than honey in my mouth. 104I gain understanding from your precepts; therefore I hate every false way. 105Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light on my path.” —Psalm 119:97-105

IV. FACE YOUR (10:28-43)

“The fear of mankind is a snare, but the one who trusts in the Lord is protected.” —Proverbs 29:25

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but one of power, love, and sound judgment.” —2 Timothy 1:7

“The Lord who made the earth, the Lord who forms it to establish it, the Lord is his name, says this: 3Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and incomprehensible things you do not know.” —Jeremiah 33:2-3
