Who are some of the people in your life that have played powerful roles in your journey?
Lesson Overview:
Over the course of about three years, Jesus spent time with certain people in multiple places. In fact, during the six months he traveled from Galilee to Jerusalem, Jesus encountered many groups of people in various places. As we look at these people and places there are lessons we can learn for our lives today.
As you think about Jesus’ life, who are some of the people he encountered along his journey? Can you categorize those people in specific groups?
Read Luke 9:51. Where is Jesus headed and why? How long do you think this journey took?
Read Luke 11:29, 12:1, and 14:25. Why did Jesus spend time with crowds of people? Why is a Christ crowd important today?
Read Luke 16:1, 17:1, and 18:31. Who is Jesus speaking to in these passages? Why did Jesus spend so much time with his twelve disciples?
How important is it to be in a discipleship group or leading a discipleship group?
Read Luke 11:53,54. How did the Pharisees and other religious leaders treat Jesus? Do you have people like that in your life today?
Read Luke 19:1-10. Why did Jesus connect with Zacchaeus? Who is the Zacchaeus in your life today?
Are you being intentional about participating in a large groups, small group, and connecting with lost people? What do you need to change to do so?
Share prayer needs with each other and close your group with prayer.
