WHAT’S HAPPENING AT EMMANUEL

June 1, 2025

STUDENT TAKEOVER SUNDAY
Welcome to Emmanuel! Today our middle and high school students have
taken over our services. You will see our students leading worship, giving
announcements, and sharing testimonies, and you’ll hear a special message
from one of our recent graduates. You will also see students serving in other
ministries throughout the morning.

We are also celebrating our graduates this morning. Congratulations, Class of
2025! Please pray for our seniors as they transition to the next season of life.
If you would like to learn more about our student ministry for middle and
high schoolers, or our Emmanuel Kids ministry for children birth through 5
grade, please contact Pastor Justin at jmanry@emmanuelchurch.tv.

Are you new to Emmanuel? Do you want to learn more about our church
family and what it means to follow Jesus? Are you ready to grow deeper in
your faith?

Our growth track gives you the opportunity to learn more about church
membership, spiritual maturity, serving in ministry, and spreading the good
news of Jesus through missions.

1st, 2nd, and 3rd Base will be offered on Sunday, June 8, at 6:00pm. Start at
1st Base and then work your way around. If you have already completed the Bases and want a refresher, feel free to go through them again! Sign up on
your Connect Card.

REACH HURTING KIDS CONFERENCE
Saturday, June 7, 9:00am–12:00pm
Two out of three kids will experience at least one traumatic event during their
childhood. This interactive workshop will prepare you to reach the hurting
kids in your community!

  • Understand the widespread impact of trauma
  • Recognize the signs of trauma in the church
  • Learn practical strategies to help hurting kids learn and succeed
  • Create a more supportive ministry environment
  • Build and strengthen your relationships with struggling kids
  • Handle behavioral problems confidently and effectively

Develop a new lens for discipleship and point kids to Christ, even
in their most difficult moments. Come and learn with us! Register using
the QR code or on the Emmanuel app.

BABY BOTTLE BLITZ
Now through Sunday, June 15
Your gift can change lives and save lives!
Now through Father’s Day, we are collecting financial gifts for Care Net
SoMD, a pregnancy center that ministers to women and families facing
unplanned pregnancies, and provides education, parenting support, and
practical assistance.

Pick up a baby bottle in the lobby and fill it with coins, cash,
and checks, or give online using the QR code, to make a
difference in our community!

SAILS LUNCHEON
Thursday, June 19, 11:30am

Senior adults, you are invited to our monthly luncheon on Thursday, June 19,
at 11:30am. It’s a potluck buffet-style meal that features hot dishes,
sandwiches, and lots of delicious desserts! No reservations are necessary and
first-time guests are not expected to bring a dish. We eat together, have a
brief devotion, and plan our future events, such as missions projects and
interesting trips. We meet on the third Thursday of each month (we will not
be meeting in July).

Mark your calendars for September 18 for a trip to Cambridge, Maryland. We
will visit the Underground Railroad Museum, eat at Old Salty’s Restaurant,
and drive through the beautiful Blackwater Refuge. Everyone over age 55 is
welcome to join us—more info coming soon!
