Message Notes

Gratitude is a response to the hand of God (God’s actions).

“I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.” —Psalm 9:1

Gratitude is a reaction to the heart of God (God’s nature).

“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.” —1 Chronicles 16:34

Gratitude is a result of our growth in God (Our Character).

“Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.” —Colossians 2:6-7

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in (during) all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” —1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

“On the way to Jerusalem he was passing along between Samaria and Galilee. And as he entered a village, he was met by ten lepers, who stood at a distance and lifted up their voices, saying, ‘Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.’ When he saw them he said to them, ‘Go and show yourselves to the priests.’ And as they went they were cleansed. Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice; and he fell on his face at Jesus’ feet, giving him thanks. Now he was a Samaritan. Then Jesus answered, ‘Were not ten cleansed? Where are the nine? Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?’ And he said to him, ‘Rise and go your way; your faith has made you well.’” —Luke 17:11-19

We should be grateful to Jesus for EVERYTHING, because we don’t deserve ANYTHING

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in (during) all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” —1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” —Philippians 4:6-7
