Welcome back! Look up the Scriptures provided to fill in the blanks and answer the questions about Jesus’ description of Christian living.

Bible Engagement

Jesus calls His followers to

  1. Know (Matthew 22:36-38) not just know information about Him, but experience close relationship
  2. Others (Matthew 22:39-40) God expects His people to share His love in community with fellow believers
  3. Share Hope (Matthew 5:14-16; 28:19-20) As Christ followers, Jesus wants us to shine His so people around us will be drawn to Him

Jesus also expects His followers to grow and bear His

(John 15:1-8)

  1. Salvation is only the beginning of our new life with Jesus. As a is expected to grow, so are we to grow and mature spiritually as believers. (1 Peter 2:2-3; Ephesians 4:14-16)
  2. List the fruit, or evidence, of spiritual maturity mentioned in Galatians 5:22-23.

    This fruit comes not by human effort or personality, but from living in surrender to Jesus’ to bless those in our faith community, our homes, workplace, and the world.

Application

  1. Take a few minutes to consider today’s Scriptures. Pray and ask God to show you how well you are knowing Him, loving others, and sharing hope.

  2. Ask God to help you make some goals towards spiritual maturity this year. Record them here and refer to these goals throughout the year.
