TAMING INDIVIDUALISM…

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 (ESV)
Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. 10For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up! 11Again, if two lie together, they keep warm, but how can one keep warm alone? 12And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

What does it look like to belong to one another?

1 - Collective Wisdom -

Ecclesiastes 4:9 “Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil.” NLT - “they can help each other succeed.”

2 - Consistent Encouragement -

Ecclesiastes 4:10, “For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up!”

3 - Collaborative Effort -

Ecclesiastes 4:11, “Again, if two lie together, they keep warm, but how can one keep warm alone?”

4 - Complete Protection -

Ecclesiastes 4:12 (NLT), “A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.”
