Behold, Your King
Read Matthew 1:18-25
Icebreaker — What is the furthest out you have ever made a plan? How did it go?
1.Which part of the narrative of the birth of Jesus in Matthew 1:18-25 hit you in a fresh way this week?
2.Have the festivities of Christmas led you to cheapen or better appreciate the incarnation? How can you grow in gratitude for it this year?
3.Does God really have the authority to order all of history around Jesus? If He does, what authority does He have over your life?
4.As a Christian, do you ever struggle to believe that there is nothing left to do to earn God’s love? What does Romans 5:6-8 say about this?
5.What response does the incarnation demand? Have you responded as such?
I will sing of the steadfast love of the Lord, forever; with my mouth I will make known your faithfulness to all generations. For I said, “Steadfast love will be built up forever; in the heavens you will establish your faithfulness.” You have said, “I have made a covenant with my chosen one;I have sworn to David my servant: ‘I will establish your offspring forever, and build your throne for all generations.’” Selah Psalm 89:1-4
