The POWER of the POUR

2 Timothy 4:6a (AMP)
6a
For I am already being [a]poured out as a drink offering, and the time of [b]my departure [from this world] is at hand and I will soon go free.

ALREADY = ede = right now… in this place and moment.

DEPARTURE = analusis (only used one time in scripture) = loosing, unyoking.

DEATH IS NOT THE END FOR BELIEVERS… IT IS A RELEASING FROM LIMITATIONS!

God does not choose perfect pitchers…
HE CHOSES ONES WHO ARE WILLING TO BE POURED OUT

OIL = THE ANOINTING = Supernatural empowerment for ministry.

  • The ability to not let things stick to you.

Philippians 3:8
8
Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,

The only thing that carried real weight was the anointing of the Anointed One!

Win = kerdainó - gain, acquire…
Christos = the anointed one and his anointing.

PAUL WAS SAYING -

  • He did not finish his race because he was smart; he finished because he was anointed.
  • He did not plant churches because he was a great strategist; he planted them because he was empowered by the Holy Spirit.
  • He did not endure beatings, shipwrecks, and imprisonment because he was tough; he endured because the anointing made sure nothing stuck to him!

The enemy cannot take your oil
The enemy will try to convince you that what you have is too small to be worth using.

1 Kings 17:10 - 12
10
So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there gathering of sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.
11 And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand.
12 And she said, As the Lord thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.

When you feel like you have nothing to give, that is exactly the moment God wants to do the miraculous!

Stop comparing your oil to someone else’s.
God is not going to hold you accountable for someone someone else’s oil
.

2 Corinthians 12:9 - 10
9
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

GRACE = THE MINISTRY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT!

God does not ask you to pour because you have a lot

  • He asks you to pour because He is your source!

God does not need your abundanceHe needs your obedience.

He does not need your energy, your strength, or your resources.
What He needs is your faith to pour out whatever little you have left!
God’s miracles begin with what you already have.

1 Kings 17:14
14
For this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: There will always be flour
and olive oil left in your containers until the time when the LORD sends rain and the crops grow again!”

FLOUR = my seed. it is the essential elements. What I put into the mix!

OIL = the Holy Spirit - how He changes what I give into something supernatural!

1 Kings 17:15 - 16
15
And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days.
16 And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the Lord, which he spake by Elijah.

POURING Oil =

  • refusing to be intimidated at the task
  • refusing to be moved by the problem!

PAUL GIVES 3 DEFINITIONS OF WHAT IT MEANS TO POUR OUT:

1. THE PUNCH AND THE POUR

2 Timothy 4:7a “I HAVE FOUGHT A GOOD FIGHT”

Paul was not just describing his life — he was defining his POURING!
His greatest battle was not against people, politics, or even persecution it was against himself (HIS FLESH - HIS EMOTIONS).

The word “fought” (agonizomai) means to engage in conflict.

PAUL = I AM DOING EVERYTHING I CAN TO NOT GIVE UP!

THE FIGHT in the RING is the “IN-BETWEEN”
It is in between what God has spoken, but you do not see it yet.

The flesh rises up! It wants to see, feel, and touch the promise before believing it.
Faith says: “I just need to believe it, and see it on the inside.”

Your Feelings Are Not Your Future!

Paul understood what we all FIGHT! — your flesh wants

.

  • The flesh wants to feel secure before obeying God.
  • The flesh wants to see the way before stepping out.

moves forward before it sees the results.

The fight is not about God’s promise - that is already settled.
The fight is about whether you will crucify your flesh long enough to stay in position for the promise.

Some of you are waiting for the miracle before you move, but the miracle is waiting for you to

.

When we are willing to pour in obedience — God CAN MULTIPLY OUR TIME!
When we are willing to pour out, He will speed up our process!

  • We do not have to understand the timing.
  • We just have to be willing to pour!

When we pour, Jesus accelerates the process!

A GOOD FIGHT IS NOT EASY.
A GOOD FIGHT IS WHEN IT IS WORTH IT.

2 Corinthians 11:24 - 25 NLT
24
Five different times the Jewish leaders gave me thirty-nine lashes.
25 Three times I was beaten with rods. Once I was stoned. Three times I was shipwrecked. Once I spent a whole night and a day adrift at sea.

~ It is not about how you start, but how you press through to the end. ~

2. THE PRESS AND THE PACE

2 Timothy 4:7b “I HAVE FINISHED THE RACE”
A marathon is not about speed - it is about

!
It was about pouring himself out — not just in the big moments, but in the daily press.

We love to celebrate the fast, the flashy, the popular and the flame.
Real success is found in

.

PACE = staying faithful, not rushing ahead of God, but trusting that His way is perfect, even when you do not see the results immediately.

PRESS = striving, persevering, or being driven foward towards a goal or purpose, often in the face of difficulty or opposition.

In a marathon, “hitting the wall” happens around mile 20; when your body starts to shut down because you are running out of energy. You no longer feel strong.

What happens in our spiritual race…
• You start strong.
• You are full of faith.
• You believe everything God said.
But then… you hit something you did not expect.
• Someone hurt or betrayed you.
• Something happened that you did not see coming.
• A season where you do not see what God said.
That is when the flesh rises up and says, “Give up. Stop believing. Stop running.”

Faith does not need to feel it.
Faith does not need to see it.
Faith just needs to *move
.*

2 Corinthians 5:7 (FOR WE WALK BY FAITH, NOT BY SIGHT:)

THIS IS WHERE THE OIL AND THE WINE WORK TOGETHER.

~ Something shifts…Marathon runners call it : “The Second Wind” ~

The Holy Spirit comes like a RUSHING, MIGHTY WIND!
THAT IS THE OIL OF THE ANOINTING! When the Holy Spirit Pushes You Forward!

Faithfulness is the factory of miracles.
If you want to see God move in big ways, you need to stay

in the
small things.

DO NOT JUST CELEBRATE THE FINISH LINE… CELEBRATE THE

!

Your faithfulness is creating a space for

.

3. THE HOLD AND THE HONOR

2 Timothy 4:7c - “I HAVE KEPT THE FAITH”

The word “kept” literally means guarded.

Every single day, your faith is under attack.

  • The enemy wants you to settle.
  • The world wants you to compromise.
  • Your flesh wants you to quit.

At the end of his life, Paul said, “I DID NOT LET ANYTHING TAKE MY FAITH!”

When they tried to stone him - he had faith that God would raise him up.
(Acts 14:19-20)
When they threw him in prison - he had faith that God had a purpose.
(Acts 16:25)
When his friends betrayed him - he kept the faith that God was sending helpers.
(2 Timothy 4:16-17)
When he was beaten, mocked, and rejected - he kept the faith that God knew him and had not abandoned him. (2 Corinthians 11:23-28)

REAL

IS POURED OUT IN DAILY DECISIONS.
✔ Choosing faith when fear knocks at your door.
✔ Speaking faith when negativity surrounds you.
✔ Walking by faith when the path isn’t clear.

FAITH IS POURED OUT IN THE

THINGS!
⚡ Faith isn’t just about BIG moments—it’s
about DAILY DECISIONS.
• It is about choosing faith when fear knocks at your door.
• It is about speaking faith when negativity surrounds you.
• It is about walking by faith when the path is not clear.

4. THERE IS A

TO THE POUR

2 Timothy 4:8
8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness
, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

GOD does not just plan on you pouring out without rewards
PROVISION | BELONGING | DELIVERANCE

Paul was not just talking about those who are waiting for Jesus to show up in the sky at the end of time - he is talking about those who are ready for Him to show up right now, in this moment, in your life, and in your circumstances.

Your crown carries your

!

It is for every believer who is excited for Jesus to show up!

Keep your faith… Keep speaking… Keep declaring… Keep sowing… Keep serving!

POUR YOURSELF INTO EVERY TASK!

LET THIS BE YOUR TESTIMONY AT THE END OF EVERY DAY!
“I KEPT MY FAITH!”
