QUESTIONS For personal reflection or group discussion
1. Read 1 Corinthians 13:7. Love protects those who need protection. Read 1 John 3:17 and Psalm 82:3. How are you actively protecting or helping someone weak right now? If not, who in your life could use help, and how will you help them this week?
2. Love always trusts. René suggested this means it is loving to assume the best, rather than the worst. When there is a gap between what you expect and what people actually do, do you tend to fill that gap by assuming the best or assuming the worst?
3. Love believes people can change. Do you tend to believe this or do you put people in “good” and “bad” boxes? How does thinking of God’s love for you help?
4. In 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, the apostle Paul defines love in multiple ways. Which descriptions of love that we’ve studied in this series so far come easiest to you? Which do you find difficult?
