Innovative Concepts Mission:
Reaching and redeeming the Unchurched, Making Disciples,
and Multiplying Leaders who establish vibrant churches,
bringing hope and renewal to every community we serve,
to further the expansion of God’s Kingdom.

INTRO
The first recorded Thanksgiving in American history was in 1621.
The Pilgrims celebrated a successful corn harvest.

The two groups had a friendly relationship for over 50 years. They were a community that were committed to helping each other.

So when did turkey become a staple at Thanksgiving?
Turkey did not become part of the typical Thanksgiving meal until the 1800s.

So what does Thanksgiving mean to us? It’s not just days off, Black Friday, football, and good grinds.
Thanksgiving was born out of a heart of community and gratitude.

But today, some people find it difficult to be thankful and celebrate the holiday.

Because we understand this, we as a church community wanted to bless others who may be having a difficult season.

TEXT

Give thanks to the Lord,
for He is good!
His faithful love endures forever.
Has the Lord redeemed you?
Then speak out!
Tell others He has redeemed you
from your enemies.
For He has gathered the exiles
from many lands,
from east and west,
from north and south.

—Psalm 107:1-3

TEACHING
God tells us to be thankful in all situations because He is good

THANKFULNESS VS. GRATEFULNESS
Thankful = appreciation
Grateful= heartfelt response for something we don’t deserve.

The church is a community of believers that are committed to helping one another do life successfully.
All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer.

A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders. And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity— all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved. —Acts 2:42-47

Small groups are where we learn about God in a relatable way to change our lives.
