Week One | Dominion
2 Corinthians 1:20
For no matter how many promises God has made, they are
“Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.
The first promise of God was dominion
Genesis 1:26-27
26 then God said, ‘Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.’
Genesis 1:28
God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it.
In order to live IN victory we must know:
1. Who Are We? > Question of Identity
2. Where Did I Come From? > Question of Heritage
3. Why Am I Here? > Question of Purpose
Who Am I? Question of Identity
Psalms 8:3-5
3 When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers the moon and the stars you set in place 4 what are mere mortals that you should think about them, human beings that you should care for them? 5 Yet you made them only a little lower than God and crowned them with glory and honor.
Your purpose is connected to your creator.
Where Did I Come From? Question of Heritage
Genesis 2:7
7Then the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into the man’s nostrils, and the man became a living person.
Less to do about ethnicity & more about origin.
Ezekiel 36:35
35 And when I bring you back, people will say, This former wasteland is now like the Garden of Eden! The abandoned and ruined cities now have strong walls and are filled with people!’
Why Am I Here? Question of Purpose
*Genesis 2:15*
The Lord God placed the man in the Garden of Eden to tend and watch over it.
Your existence is evidence that your generation needed something that our life contains.
John 16:33
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Romans 8:37
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
