B.

and the Bible are at odds on the highest we should follow in life. Culture says it is to take control of your present and future and create the life you want. Jesus says to surrender control of your life to the higher and better way He has to offer. Both are hard, but one offers the creator of all heaven and earth as an and the other leaves it all up to you.

II. Surrender requires more than control.
A. It is not to surrender, trust/faith is a hard and narrow road that leads to life.

Matthew 7:13-14

B. Our calling is not to the path of least

, it is a call to surrender and follow down a hard and dangerous path assured of our in the valley.

C. Living a surrendered life is living a life of an easy yolk and a light burden. You still have

to do, you still have , but you also have the assurance of God’s provision, wisdom, and favor in all that you put your hands to.

III. for letting go and gaining a new grip:

C.

with trusted advisors through the valley, no one said to go alone.

Matthew 26:36-37

D. Embracing faith/trust doesn’t require you to the emotions are not real. Walk through them with the Holy Spirit as your counselor.

Matthew 26:38-39
