Resurrection Whispers
1 Corinthians 15:35-49
3 Principles that
1. Principle #1 –
2. Principle #2 – Different
3. Principle #3: We are
- What is one of your favorite films that deals with life after death or the afterlife? (If you like zombie tv shows/films, its ok to admit that )
- Why do you think the idea of resurrection is difficult to believe? Both in biblical times and modern-day? Why do you think most philosophies & religious systems focus just on an immaterial/spiritual future?
- Read 1 Corinthians 15:35-49. What sticks out to you in this passage? What questions come to your mind?
- Why are our made bodies important as God’s image bearers? How do you understand this in light of the handicapped, invalids, the elderly, or even the unborn?
- How do we see life coming from death in the Gospel itself? How would you explain it?
- How would you compare the glory of humanity to the glory of other created things? Why do you think Paul connects the groaning of creation to bodily resurrection in Romans 8:19-24
- What could be the danger as Christians of over-emphasizing our physical bodies? Conversely, what could be the danger of under-emphasizing our physical bodies?
- “Christianity does not exist if Christ’s body, and our bodies, stay in the grave.” Explain the meaning of that statement, and if you agree or disagree.
- What does it look like, practically speaking, to grieve well? In light of your answer to that, what does it look like to live well?
