does anyone know what today is… Sanctity of Human Life Sunday… established in 1984 by President Reagan… to bring awareness to the attacks that are waged daily against human life thru the abortion industry… this message is not political…
certain abortion has touched lives of men and women here today… certain it has touched lives of those who will watch this message… why talk about it…
why risk offending… because this is not political… it’s about freedom, forgiveness, education… most important, it’s about life… some of you have never told anyone what happened… and that’s holding you in bondage… Jesus came to set you free…
Deut 30:19… “choice between life and death… choose life so you and children may live…”
Psa 130:4… “with you there is forgiveness… so you may be feared…”
Hosea 4:6… “my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…”
Gal 5:1… “for freedom, Christ set us free… don’t submit again to yoke of slavery..”
not political… mission is to preach the gospel… not overturn Roe or end abortion… court can make abortion illegal… only God can make it unthinkable…

Sin and Forgiveness
likely all of us know someone who’s had an abortion… before we can dig too deep… need to talk about sin… which sins does God remember…
Isa 43:25… “blot out your transgressions for My sake… remember sins no more…”
John 1:29… “the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world…”
Heb 8:12; 10:17… “I will forgive… I will never again remember your sins…”
what has the blood of Jesus done to those sins…
Matt 26:28… “My blood… which confirms covenant… for forgiveness of sins…”
Eph 1:7… “in Him… thru His blood… we have the forgiveness of sins…”
Heb 9:22… “without the shedding of blood… there is no forgiveness…”

Jesus paid penalty for sins of entire world… salvation and forgiveness is a gift… it’s free, but not universal… must choose individually to believe and receive…

whoever you are… whatever you’ve done… forgiveness is freely available… not thru what you’ve done… but what He has done… and that includes abortion…

Not Political
ready for the not political side of this message… simply about life and death… right and wrong… good and evil… mourn over miscarriages… recognize it’s not a blob of tissue, but a baby… why don’t we look at abortion the same way…

Unborn Child is a Person in God’s Eyes
made in God’s image… before conception, God calls us a person… HS fills people, not blobs of tissue… if unborn is not person, did Jesus cease to exist in Mary’s womb… mistreatment begins with de-humanization…

creating life is a purposeful act of God… you have a purpose… not accident, not random chance, not evolved from apes…. not just good, very good… animals not made in image of God… only creation that houses God… you are masterpiece…

Unborn Child has a Purpose from God
before birth… God had plans for you… every child has a purpose…

24 weeks - ears fully developed, responds to movement, hiccups…

Common Arguments Against Life
rape, incest, life of mother - less than 4% of abortions… 96% eliminated if these remained… if mom’s life is in danger and needs medical procedure that could harm unborn child, that is NOT abortion… abortion is intentional, direct, harmful action taken against a child…
handicaps and birth defects - how perfect do you have to be… can you kill if you don’t like sex, hair or eye color… where do you draw the line… very slippery slope… tests not 100%…
woman’s right - what about the baby’s rights… don’t always have right to choose and do as you please… right to life should always outweigh right of an individual to equality or control their own body… counter this argument by not having sex outside marriage…

The Christian’s Role
pray - maybe we don’t because we don’t fully understand abortion…
James 5:16… “the prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective…”
1John 5:14-15… “ask according to His will… and you will have what you asked…”
education - lies are killing children… see for yourself what abortion really is… learn truth…
Hos 4:6… “my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge… rejected knowledge…”
Eph 4:18… “they are excluded from life because of ignorance and a hard heart…”
love and compassion - stop pushing people away because we don’t like their particular sin… broken, hurting people need to experience the love of Jesus… set free from gsc…
Psa 147:3… “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds…”
Luke 4:18… “preach Good News… release captives… blind see… oppressed set free…”
get involved - no more silence… engage culture and government… vote pro-life… not in vain… education has made 18-29 most pro-life group in America… support pro-life centers…
Prov 24… “rescue those being taken off to death… save those stumbling toward slaughter… no excuse by saying, we didn’t know about this… He who guards your soul knows you knew…”
not political… about preserving life at all ages… concern for babies, women, men, doctors, nurses… forgiveness freely given by God… freely given here too…
