What is the thing you hate to wait on the most in your life?
The people of Israel had become slaves in Egypt. Coming to Egypt had saved their lives, but soon they were working for Pharaoh. Things had gone from bad to worse. As they continued to cry out to God for over 400 years, God heard their cries, and He delivered them. Once delivered, the Israelites spent 40 years in the wilderness. Now things had gone from worse to bad again. The wilderness was not fun, but it was certainly better
than being slaves in Egypt.
By looking at the story of Israel we can see biblical principles of how God delivers us from difficult circumstances in our lives.
Have you ever felt like you were in bondage or needed deliverance from something in your life?
Read Exodus 2:23-25. What can we learn from the cries of the people and the length of time they were slaves in Egypt? (For over 400 years they cried out to God)
Read Exodus 3:10. What made Moses such a great vessel for God to use to deliver his people?
Has God used a “Moses” in your life in anyway to nudge you in the right direction?
Read Exodus 3:20. What can we learn from the plagues God used to deliver His people? Why did He make this His plan?
Have your ever tried to solve a problem in your life using your plan rather than God’s? Explain.
Read Exodus 6:6-8. How did the promise of God affect the deliverance of His people?
Is there a lesson in this story of Israel that speaks to your life today?
