“And he said, ‘Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return. The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.’ In all this Job did not sin or charge God with wrong.” —Job 1:21-22 (ESV)

Application

  1. Write down what you learned about God, humans, and the theme of suffering this week.

  2. Sometimes we spend so much time trying to figure out our situations that we don’t listen to what God has to say. Take a few minutes to sit with God in silence. What did you hear God speak to you about your own life through the book of Job? If you hear nothing, be encouraged that Job felt God’s silence at times, too, yet God was still near. Keep turning to Him.
