THE BOOK OF REVELATION IS A VISION OF JESUS TO JOHN, THAT IS INTENDED TO BE A LETTER SENT TO 7 CHURCHES IN THE ROMAN EMPIRE, AROUND THE YEAR 90ad. One of those churches is the church at Laodicea.

REVELATION 3:14-16
To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: “These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God’s creation. I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm — neither hot nor cold — I am about to spit you out of my mouth.”

Laodicea’s water problem: They had no natural source of water, so they had to transport water from neighboring towns. By the time the water got to Laodicea, the water was

What might it look like for this church to have ears to hear what Jesus, by His Spirit, is saying to us?

How can you be more sensitive to the leading of God’s voice? Are you distracted? Is there unforgiveness in your life? Is there a self-sufficiency or self-dependence that is clouding you from depending on the Holy Spirit? Use this space to respond to Him?
