Building on One Foundation (part 1)

Read 1 Corinthians 3:1-11

Icebreaker: What’s something you used to think was so important as a kid, but now makes you laugh?

1. Passage reflection: What thoughts come to mind as you carefully reflect on this passage?

2. Spiritual journey: How would you describe your current spiritual journey to someone you trust, like a pastor?

3. Tension: In what specific ways are you being led by the flesh even though your convictions are telling you to deny the flesh and follow the Spirit? (Hint: Sometimes spiritual anxieties arise from these points of tension. Be bold by talking them through with a trusted Christian mentor or friend!)

4. Source of refuge: When things seem to fall apart, do you instinctively turn to Christ as your sure foundation, or do you rely on your own strength or other people?

5. Author or servant: If God is the source of salvation and growth, why do you think people are so prone to promote His servants (pastors/teachers) over Him in such ways that lead to divisions among Christians?

6. Your Growth: What are 2 areas of spiritual growth you’d like to experience this year? Pray about this and prioritize these pursuits.
