MAIN IDEA:
As we follow Jesus, He wants us to change our perspective in life. Instead of living self-centered lives, he wants us to invest our time, resources, and giftedness for the benefit of His Kingdom. When we live with eternal perspective, we will be empowered to love God more deeply and fulfill our calling to live as Servants Devoted to God.
INTRODUCTION:
- Every follower of Jesus is called to be a Servant Devoted to
, living to love God and serve Him with devotion. - Belonging to the
of Jesus brings new priorities that will change the way we see and use our time and resources.
A. The Expansion of the Kingdom:
- The first Christians established churches from
all the way to Asia Minor. - From the very beginning, the Christian movement was characterized by unity of purpose and a willingness to
for the benefit of the Kingdom of Jesus. - Around AD 46-48, the area of Judea was affected by a
that motivated the Christian churches around Asia Minor to help and invest in God’s Kingdom.
B. Eternal Perspective: The New Perspective of the Kingdom
- Time: People invested
to pursue the interests of the Kingdom. - Giftedness: People invested their skills and
for the benefit of the Kingdom. - Resources: People invested their financial
for the benefit of the Kingdom.
C. Three Convictions of Living with Eternal Perspective
- New Role: I am a
of God’s resources—not an owner. - New Purpose: I live to make
known—not to promote myself. - New Milestone: I will give an account to
—what I do today matters to God.
D. PERSONAL QUESTION
Have you embraced the new
of the Kingdom?
Conclusion:
Following Jesus requires that we learn to live life with eternal perspective. When we have the right perspective, we will be empowered to love God and Serve Him with Devotion until the day we hear him say, “well done, good and faithful servant.”
