Healing Is Hard Work
When was the last time you had to work hard to heal or recover from something?
Did you ever want to give up?
Meet Barbara Amaya (12 years old)
The Apostle Paul Reminds Us:
1. We have all been slaves (Romans 6:17).
2. God provides rescue (Romans 5:8).
3. God can deliver us to a “grace-place” where we can safely heal.
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. —Romans 8:1
4. Healing is Hard work.
I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but … the very thing I hate … . the desire to do the good lies close at hand, but not the ability. For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I do … . Wretched person that I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? —Romans 7
5. God can redeem our suffering.
I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory about to be revealed to us … . 28 We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose … . 31 … . If God is for us, who is against us? … . 35 Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will affliction or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or peril or sword? … . 37 No, in all these things we are more than victorious through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. —Romans 8
