Series Overview: We are back with another series diving into even more on the life of David! There is so much to be gained looking at the life of David from the beginning to the end. From the backfield of a desert in complete obscurity to holding up a giant’s head on the battlefied in total notariety - In this series, we allow David’s life [who is the second most mentioned and documented person in scripture] to speak very powerful, challenging and inspiring truths to our lives today. Today, we dig into the friendship of David and Jonathan.
1 SAMUEL 18:1-4 AMP
When David had finished speaking to Saul, the soul of Jonathan was bonded to the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as himself. 2 Saul took David that day and did not let him return to his father’s house. 3 Then Jonathan made a covenant with David because he loved him as himself. 4 Jonathan stripped himself of the outer robe that he was wearing and gave it to David, with his armor, including his sword, his bow, and his belt.
It was a God-Ordained relationship.
