Get Your BUT Right
Pastor Scott Thomas

Philippians 1:28 GNT
Don’t be afraid of your enemies; always be courageous, and this will prove to them that they will lose and that you will win, because it is God who gives you the victory.

GET YOUR !

Numbers 13:27-28 NIV
They gave Moses this account: “We went into the land to which you sent us, and it does flow with milk and honey! Here is its fruit. BUT the people who live there are powerful, and the cities are fortified and very large. We even saw descendants of Anak there.

Numbers 13:30 CEV
Caleb calmed down the crowd and said, “Let’s go and take the land. I know we can do it!

OVER !

Numbers 13:33 WEB
“We were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.”

STAY !

Numbers 14:23-24 GWT
“None of those who treat me with contempt will see it! BUT because my servant Caleb has a different attitude and has wholeheartedly followed me, I’ll bring him to the land he already explored. His descendants will possess it.”

CALL TO ACTION:
It’s time to change our perspective and focus on the promises rather than the problems that stand in our way. Remember God’s faithfulness in your past as you face today’s giants, refusing to let your “but” be filled with unbelief. Surround yourself with friends who finish with hope, and maintain Caleb’s “different spirit” that wholeheartedly follows God despite what the majority might say. Choose today to get your “but” right by claiming your mountain with confidence in the One who has never failed to deliver on His promises.

CHALLENGE:
Every time you catch yourself saying “but” this week, pause and examine whether you’re focusing on giants instead of grapes. Write down three promises from God that you’ve been hesitating to fully embrace, and beside each one, list the specific “giants” that have intimidated you. Each morning, spend five minutes praying over these promises and declaring Caleb’s words: “Let’s go and take the land. I know we can do it!” Then, take one small step of faith each day toward claiming your “mountain,” refusing to be defined by grasshopper syndrome.
