Day 18: Divine Direction
Scripture Reading: Matthew 2:1-2 (NLT)
1 Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the reign of King Herod. About that time some wise men from eastern lands arrived in Jerusalem, asking, 2 “Where is the newborn king of the Jews? We saw his star as it rose, and we have come to worship him.”
Devotional:
Imagine being those wise men, scanning the night sky and spotting an extraordinary star. God’s cosmic GPS, guiding them to the very birthplace of Jesus. God not only announced the Savior’s arrival to the shepherds but also orchestrated a cosmic display for these seekers from the East.
In our lives, God is just as intentional. He directs our steps, aligning circumstances and creating divine encounters. The magi didn’t stumble upon the Christ-child; they followed the heavenly roadmap, and God led them to the exact spot where Jesus lay.
God wants to guide us towards His divine purposes for us in the same way. He wants us to live and fulfill our divine purpose. The question is, will we be as diligent as these magi in seeking Him out?
What is God revealing to you?
Reflect:
Consider the divine direction God has provided in your life. Think about the moments that seemed like chance but were, in fact, His guiding hand. How has God directed your steps? How is He directing you now?
Application:
As you go through your day, trust in God’s guidance. Just as He led the magi, He’s directing your steps. Be open to His leading, knowing that He orchestrates every detail for your good.
What is God calling you to do?
Prayer:
Dear God, thank You for guiding the magi to Jesus. We trust Your direction in our lives. Open our eyes to see Your guidance, and give us the courage to follow where You lead. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
