salvation is made simple in Christ…
Psa 25:5… “guide me in Your truth… teach me… for You are my salvation…”
Acts 16:30-31… “believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved…”
Rom 13:11… “urgent, time is running out… wake up… day of salvation is near…”
2Cor 11:3… “fear, you be deceived… minds corrupted from simplicity in Christ…”
trying to simplify important areas of the Bible that can be confusing…
Eph 1:15-19… “pray heart will be enlightened to know wealth of His inheritance…”
Eph 3:16-19… “I pray… you may know God’s love… experience Christ’s love…”
Phil 1:9… “pray… your love will keep on growing… know what really matters…”
Col 1:9… “pray… you may be filled with knowledge of His will in all wisdom…”

What is Forgiveness?
give up resentment, anger; stop wanting to punish; absolve from payment of debt… biblical forgiveness means to send away or dismiss… more than not being angry… deliberate, conscious, complete, total letting go of debt or sin…
Neh 9:17… “You are a God of forgiveness… slow to anger… gracious, merciful…”
Psa 25:11… “Lord, for the sake of Your name… forgive my sin, it is immense…”
Psa 86:5… “Lord, you are kind and ready to forgive… abounding in faithful love…”
Psa 130:4… “with you, there is forgiveness… so you may be revered (honor, awe)…”

Matt 26:28… “this is the blood of NC… shed for the forgiveness of sins…”
Luke 1:77… “give His people knowledge of salvation thru forgiveness of sins…”
Acts 10:43… “everyone who believes in Him… receives forgiveness of sins…”

Forgiveness is Complete
all your sins are forgiven… past, present, and future… if you’re not forgiven of all, you’re not forgiven at all… all sins were future when Jesus paid the price…
Jer 33:8… “I will cleanse them of their sins and forgive all their sins of rebellion…”
Psa 103… “do not forget all His benefits… He forgives all our sins… heals all our diseases… He has removed our sins as far from us as the East is from the West…”
Matt 12:31… “people will be forgiven every sin and blasphemy…”
Mark 3:28… “people will be forgiven all sins and whatever blasphemies…

How Complete is Forgiveness?
God says He will never remember your sins… do you believe Him… absolutely, completely, totally does not remember the thing you did… but it gets better… even the thought of the thing never crosses His mind… sees you as perfect as Jesus…
Isa 43:25… “I will blot out your sins for My sake… never think of them again…”
Heb 8:12; 10:17… “I will never again remember their sins and lawless deeds…”
ou me’… God forbid never; absolute denial of the thing or the thought of the thing (Thayer)…
1John 4:17… “as He is… so also are we… in this world…”
Unconditional or Conditional?
OC forgiveness conditional… almost always verb… do something to be forgiven…
NC forgiveness unconditional… almost always noun… person, place, thing (Jesus)…
Matt 6:14-15… “if you forgive, God will forgive you… if you don’t, He won’t…”
Mark 11:25… “when you pray, forgive others… so your Father will forgive you…”
Acts 5:31… “God exalted this Man as Savior… to grant forgiveness of sins…”
Acts 13:38… “thru this Man forgiveness of sins is being proclaimed to you…”
Past or Present?
OC points to a future forgiveness… NC points to a past forgiveness…
Psa 51… “blot out my guilt… cleanse me from sin… my sin is always before me…”
1Kings 8… “may you hear and forgive… may you forgive… may you forgive…”
Jer 31… “the days are coming… when I will make a NC… I will forgive…”
Eph 4:32… “forgive each other… just as God also forgave you in Christ…”
Col 1:14… “He has rescued us… purchased our freedom… forgave all our sins…”
Col 3:13… “forgive those who offend you… just as the Lord has forgiven you…”
How are we Forgiven?
no forgiveness without blood… OC blood covered sin… NC blood removes it…
Exo 29-30… “once a year… with the blood of the sin offering for atonement…”
Rom 3:20-26… “justified freely by grace… thru sacrifice of Jesus’ blood…”
Heb 9… “with His own blood… once for all… obtained eternal redemption… without blood there is no forgiveness… He did not do this many times… but one time for removal of sin…”
Rev 1:5… “He has freed us from our sins by shedding His blood for us…”
No Forgiveness
are there sins which can’t be forgiven… all sins are forgiven but one… HS points us to Jesus… reject or accept… rejecting Jesus is only sin that won’t be forgiven…
Matt 12; Mark 3… “every sin and blasphemy can be forgiven… except blasphemy against HS which will never be forgiven… anyone who speaks against HS will never be forgiven…”
John 3:36… “one who rejects the Son will not see life… wrath of God remains…”
John 16:8-11… “the world’s sin (singular) is that it refuses to believe in Me…”
Heb 10:26… “deliberately go on sinning (unbelief)… no longer sacrifice for sins…”
Who is Forgiven?
careful of etp… answer is whole world… make personal choice to receive…
John 1:29… “the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world…”
2Cor 5:17-21… “reconciling the world… not counting their sins against them…”
Heb 7:22-28… “Jesus offered Himself as the sacrifice for the people’s sins…”
1John 2:2… “He Himself is sacrifice for sins… not only ours, but whole world…”
kosmos… ungodly multitude alienated from God, hostile to Christ; inhabitants of earth…
only requirement for forgiveness is sin… God offers freely, completely…
Isa 55:7… “let wicked, sinful one return to the Lord… for He will freely forgive…”
Jam 5:15… “if you have committed any sins… you will be forgiven…”
