Advent 2024 (Part 4): Jesus, The King of Glory
Everything and Everyone Belongs to God (Psalm 24:1-2)
● In one sense, the “world” belongs to Satan, though only to the degree that God
allows. (2 Corinthians 4:4)● When Elijah felt like he was the only one in the world faithful to God, God came to
him in a compassionate whisper, a mission, and a reminder that plenty of others are
still faithful to God. (1 Kings 18 & 19)We Stand Before God By His Righteousness (Psalm 24:3-5)
● Only those with A) clean hands, B) a pure heart and C) those who trust in God alone
can stand before God.● The only way we can stand before God is because Jesus did all three of those, and
He imputes His righteousness to us. (Romans 4:3-5, 1 Corinthians 5:21)The King of Glory is Coming (Psalm 24:7-10)
● The imagery of a walled city, with ancient gates, opening up to the king has at least
two meanings:● 1) Jesus stands and knocks at the door of our hearts. (Revelation 3:20, James 4:8)
● 2) Jesus is coming back to fully take His throne. (Philippians 2:5-11)
