2020 Vision: Gifts (Part 1 of 4)
February 13, 2020

Today’s Message: ‘The AWAKENING’
Sunday, February 16, 2020

In this series, we’re scripturally unpacking what your ‘life’ focuses need to be in order to position yourself to receive all God has for you in 2020. Our heart is for you to arrive at the end of 2020 completely drenched in His provision and power for your life.

God has SPIRITUAL GIFTS specifically for your life! Those gifts are RELEASED into your life THROUGH the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.

LUKE 24:49 NKJV
Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.”

ACTS 1:5 ESV
For John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit…

BIBLICAL THOUGHT —> When Jesus

ascended , the Holy Spirit descended .

Biblically, the Holy Spirit and the power He wants to provide your life has been and continues to be the only way Jesus wants you to express your faith and live for Him.

MATTHEW 25:1-13 NKJV
“Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2 Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. 3 Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, 4 but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. 5 But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept. 6 “And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!’ 7 Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. 8 And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ 9 But the wise answered, saying, ‘No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’ 10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut. 11 “Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ 12 But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’ 13 “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.

3 Focuses to this Parable:
1. A Wedding –> Prophetic picture of (Rev 19; Marriage Supper of the Lamb)
2. Oil in the Lamps –> Symbolic of God in our lives (Matthew 5:14-16)
3. Ten Virgins –> Symbolic of You and I

Scriptural Question: WHY did the wise NOT share with the foolish?

MATTHEW 25:5 NKJV
While the bridegroom was delayed, they all (inclusing the wise) slumbered and slept.

MATTHEW 26:40 NIV
Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. “Couldn’t you men keep watch with me for one hour?” he asked Peter.

LUKE 9:32 KJV
But Peter and they that were with him were heavy with sleep: and when they were awake, they saw his glory, and the two men that stood with him.

You must WAKE UP to…

  1. you are!
  2. you have!
  3. you have it!

2 SAMUEL 9:1-11 NIV
David asked, “Is there anyone still left of the house of Saul to whom I can show kindness for Jonathan’s sake?” 2 Now there was a servant of Saul’s household named Ziba. They summoned him to appear before David, and the king said to him, “Are you Ziba?” “At your service,” he replied. 3 The king asked, “Is there no one still alive from the house of Saul to whom I can show God’s kindness?” Ziba answered the king, “There is still a son of Jonathan; he is lame in both feet.” 4 “Where is he?” the king asked. Ziba answered, “He is at the house of Makir son of Ammiel in Lo Debar.” 5 So King David had him brought from Lo Debar, from the house of Makir son of Ammiel. 6 When Mephibosheth son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, came to David, he bowed down to pay him honor. David said, “Mephibosheth!” “At your service,” he replied. 7 “Don’t be afraid,” David said to him, “for I will surely show you kindness for the sake of your father Jonathan. I will restore to you all the land that belonged to your grandfather Saul, and you will always eat at my table.” 8 Mephibosheth bowed down and said, “What is your servant, that you should notice a dead dog like me?” 9 Then the king summoned Ziba, Saul’s steward, and said to him, “I have given your master’s grandson everything that belonged to Saul and his family. 10 You and your sons and your servants are to farm the land for him and bring in the crops, so that your master’s grandson may be provided for. And Mephibosheth, grandson of your master, will always eat at my table.” (Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.) 11 Then Ziba said to the king, “Your servant will do whatever my lord the king commands his servant to do.” So Mephibosheth ate at David’s[a] table like one of the king’s sons.

GENESIS 42:9
Then he remembered his dreams about them and said to them,

The comfort of the church separates the gospel from going to the condemned.

God SAVED you to also help SAVE OTHERS!

MATTHEW 25:8-9 NKJV
And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil… 9 But the wise answered, saying, ‘No, lest there should not be enough for us

Share the OIL!

It’s not acceptable to walk through life with ‘just enough’ of God for yourself. God has called you to radical generosity toward a lost and dying world that needs what it is you have!

Closing thought…
Begin to express a hunger (in your prayer closet) to God for the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. It is a supernatural infilling of Himself, His power and His blessing that will never run out!
