The bible begins with a time stamp “in the beginning” and then spends 66 books describing the God who works in time and seasons and yet is not bound by them at all. The past holds for God no missed opportunity. The present holds for God no anxiety. The future holds for God no uncertainty. He was, and is, and is to come. The opening lines of revelation reveal to us a God who unlimited by time so much so that he determines its beginning and its end. His eternal nature is written large and often across the pages of Scripture. You can summarize God’s eternality in that He is without beginning, without end, and without succession of time.

Revelation 1:8 Eternal God

Ecclesiastes 3:11 Eternity in our Hearts

Psalm 90:1-4 Moses gives a great contrast between the eternal nature of God and the fleeting nature of people.

Psalm 90:12 Remembering our time is limited helps us be wise in knowing how to spend our limited time.

Psalm 90:17 God is able to bring eternal results from our time bound efforts. When we invest our time in what has eternal significance, we store up treasure in heaven.
