YOUR FAITHFULNESS IN GIVING MATTERS
As we step into this new season together, we’re reminded that every act of faith begins with trust. One way we express our trust in God is through giving our tithes and offerings. When we give, we acknowledge that everything we have comes from Him, and we partner with His work in and through our church. Your faithfulness in giving helps us continue sharing God’s love, serving our community, and stepping boldly into the plans He has for us. Let’s give with hearts full of gratitude and courage, trusting that God will provide for every need.

Today’s Scripture:
One day as Jesus was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret, the people were crowding around him and listening to the word of God. He saw at the water’s edge two boats, left there by the fishermen, who were washing their nets. He got into one of the boats, the one belonging to Simon, and asked him to put out a little from shore. Then he sat down and taught the people from the boat.
When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.”
Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets.”
When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break. So they signaled their partners in the other boat to come and help them, and they came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink.
When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus’ knees and said, “Go away from me, Lord; I am a sinful man!” For he and all his companions were astonished at the catch of fish they had taken, and so were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, Simon’s partners.
Then Jesus said to Simon, “Don’t be afraid; from now on you will fish for people.” So they pulled their boats up on shore, left everything and followed him. —Luke 5:1-11
Shame is the intensely painful feeling or experience of believing that we are flawed and therefore unworthy of love, belonging, and connection. —Brené Brown
Shame doesn’t say we made a mistake. Shame tells us we are a mistake.
Jesus doesn’t condemn Peter for his past mistakes. He invites him into
a better future.
Jesus says that you are not the sum of your worst moments and biggest mistakes. Jesus says, “You are mine.”
Shame is the most powerful, master emotion. It’s the fear that we’re not good enough. —Brené Brown
The greatest trap in our life is not success, popularity, or power, but self-rejection. —Henri Nouwen
Satan wants you to believe you’re too broken, too far gone, too unworthy.
But God’s voice breaks through all of that, saying “You are my BELOVED. You are CALLED. You are CHOSEN.”
Jesus calls you into a new identity—one shaped by His faithfulness, not your failure.
I do not understand the mystery of grace—only that it meets us where we are but does not leave us where it found us. —Anne Lamott
WHAT OLD STORY IS STILL RUNNING THROUGH YOUR MIND?
Your past doesn’t get the final word. JESUS does.
Peter wasn’t changed because he had perfect faith. He was changed because he stayed close to Jesus, even when he messed up.
Courage starts with showing up and letting ourselves be seen. —Brené Brown
Here’s the invitation: FOLLOW JESUS.
Don’t wait until you have it all together.
Don’t wait until you feel worthy.
Don’t wait until the past is behind you.
Follow Jeus NOW. Today. Right where you are.
Peter’s journey didn’t start with confidence; it started with a calling. And he responded by stepping forward.
WILL YOU OPEN YOUR HEART TO JESUS?
We want to invite you to pray with us. If you’re a follower of Jesus, this is a moment to renew your calling—to step away from shame, fear, and hesitation and say, “Jesus, I will follow You forward.” And if you’re here today and you’ve never said yes to Jesus, but you feel that tug in your heart—you don’t have to have all the answers. You just have to be willing to take the next step. Here’s a prayer you can pray:
Jesus, I hear You calling. And today, I choose to follow. I bring You my fears, my failures, my shame, and my past. I don’t have it all figured out, but I trust that You do. Rewrite my story. Change my heart. Make me Yours. I step forward in faith, believing that You are leading me. Amen.
