SERMON DISCUSSION GUIDE
CONVERSATION STARTER
What are you currently reading in God’s Word? What is God teaching you and how is it transforming your life?
DEEPER
Read Romans 11:25-36
In verse 25, Paul addresses the danger of arrogance when reflecting on the mysteries of God. Why do you think humility is essential when approaching the mysteries of God? Can you recall a time when spiritual pride affected your relationship with God or others?
What does the phrase “the fullness of the Gentiles” (v. 25) mean? How does this concept help us understand God’s global mission? Cross-reference: Matthew 24:14. How does this verse connect with Paul’s statement here?
Verse 36 declares, “For from him and through him and to him are all things.” How does recognizing God as the source and goal of all things impact the way you view: Your marriage or relationships? Your career or daily work? Your personal goals and ambitions? Your finances? Take some time to reflect on the different areas of your life and share how each currently brings — or doesn’t bring — glory to God.
*This question should take up the majority of your discussion time.
What stood out to you in this week’s sermon? What were your biggest takeaways?
Prayer activity: Open your Bibles and take a moment to reflect on Romans 1-11. As you read through these chapters, focus on what stands out to you—whether it’s a profound truth about God’s character, a promise that brings hope, a challenge to live differently, or a glimpse of his incredible mercy.
Engage in “popcorn prayer,” with each person praying aloud as they feel prompted. Give thanks for the truths that resonate in your heart, praise God for his infinite wisdom and mercy, and bring your requests to him based on what these passages reveal.
