MONDAY | THE POWER OF GOD
PASSAGE: Romans 1:16
PAUSE: The Gospel contains the power of God to save us from the penalty of sin (justification), but it also contains the grace of God to save us from the power of sin (sanctification) in our lives. Pause and consider the incredible truth that the Gospel frees us from whatever sin is controlling us today.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, unleash the power of God in my life. Create in my heart the right spirit that is victorious over the sins in my day-to-day life.
TUESDAY | RECONCILED WITH GOD
PASSAGE: Romans 5:10
PAUSE: This series has emphasized the fact that the Gospel is about the death and resurrection of Christ. The Gospel is something that we are to believe but also something that we are to live out. Since we have been reconciled with God, we are now free to live out the power of our victorious life in Christ Jesus.
PRAYER: Father, I praise you for being reconciled and released from the power of sin. I dedicate my life to following You and to walking in Your ways.
WEDNESDAY | CONSIDER YOUR NEW LIFE IN CHRIST
PASSAGE: Romans 6:11
PAUSE: Baptism is a powerful illustration of the fact that we have died to the power of sin in our lives and that we have been resurrected to a new power of life. Every day we should remind ourselves that we are dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus. Sin should no longer reign in our lives; we are dead to it!
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I rejoice in Your grace. I rejoice in the Gospel that has allowed me to crossover from death to life. I present myself to You, today.
THURSDAY | A NEW WAY
PASSAGE: Romans 7:6
PAUSE: The Gospel gives us a new way to live life. No longer do we live by rules but now we live by grace. The Gospel encourages us to walk by the power of the Holy Spirit. We have been released and set free to live a new life in Christ.
PRAYER: Father, show me the new way to live. Forgive me for the times I try to live according to the rules instead of my new relationship with Your Spirit.
FRIDAY | A SPIRIT-FILLED LIFE
PASSAGE: Romans 8:5-6
PAUSE: The GOSPEL series is closely related to our THINK series. The Gospel demands that we set our mind not on fleshy ways, but on spiritual ways. The Gospel invites us into a new and powerful way to live life by His Spirit!
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, thank you for the power of God that is found in the Gospel. I desire to set my mind on the Spirit, not the flesh. Show me the way.
