Joel 2:28-32 (New International Version)
28 “And afterward,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your old men will dream dreams,
your young men will see visions.
29 Even on my servants, both men and women,
I will pour out my Spirit in those days.
30 I will show wonders in the heavens
and on the earth,
blood and fire and billows of smoke.
31 The sun will be turned to darkness
and the moon to blood
before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.
32 And everyone who calls
on the name of the Lord will be saved;
for on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem
there will be deliverance,
as the Lord has said,
even among the survivors
whom the Lord calls.

TEXT
Joel 2:28-32 & Acts 2:4, 16-17
1. What thoughts or feelings did you have during this week’s sermon?
2. What is the significance of God pouring out his Spirit on “all people” and what are the expected activities of the Spirit (vv. 28-29)? According to Acts 2:4, 16-17 what is the expected “threshold” experience of fluency in or fullness of the Spirit? Why should we be expectant to experience these other experiences even if we have not been baptized in the Spirit?
3. What signs and wonders are listed in verses 30 and 31? What different purposes do signs and wonders serve from the other activities of the Spirit? What signs and/or wonders have you experienced in your own life? How have they impacted your relationship with God?
4. Who are the promises of salvation and deliverance directed to (v. 32)? What does being filled with the Spirit have to do with evangelism? How does being filled with the Spirit help us to be delivered from sin and areas in which we struggle?
