
SCRIPTURE: James 4:11-12
Why We Should NOT Judge:
1. It is
“Dear brothers and sisters, do not speak evil against each other.” James 4:11
2. It is
“If you criticize and judge each other, then you are criticizing and judging God’s law. Our job is to obey the law, not to judge whether it applies to you.” James 4:11
3. It is
“God alone, who gave the law, is the Judge.” James 4:12
We need to ask ourselves…
• Am I doing the
“At whatever point you judge others, you condemn yourself…if you are doing the same thing.” Romans 2:1
• Am I blind to my
“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?” Matthew 7:3
• Am I making my conclusion based on
“People look at the outside of a person, but the LORD looks at the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7
• Have I taken the time to
• Am I speaking
“When you talk, do not say harmful things, but say what people need – words that will help others become stronger.” Ephesians 4:29
• It is wrong to judge when I question someone’s
“Judge nothing before the appointed time…. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and He will expose the motives of a person’s heart.” 1 Corinthians 4:5
How Do We Break this Habit?
• We ALL will be judged by the
“Do not judge others…for God will judge you in the same way you judge others, and He will apply to you the same rules you apply to others.” Matthew 7:1-2
• We are all
“And I tell you this, you must give an account on Judgment Day for every idle word you speak.” Matthew 12:36
• Never forget how God has been
“Mercy always triumphs over judgment.” James 2:13
