HOW DO I BUILD MY LIFE ON THE BIBLE?
James 1:19-25

  1. I IT WITH MY

“So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.” Romans 10:17 (NLT)

19 “You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. 20 Human anger does not produce the righteousness God desires. 21 So get rid of all the filth and evil in your lives, and humbly accept the word God has planted in your hearts, for it has the power to save your souls.” James 1:19-21 (NLT)

FOR “GOOD RECEPTION” I NEED TO BE…

*“Be quick to listen and slow to speak…” *

“…and slow to get angry…”

“…get rid of all the filth and the evil in your lives…”

“…humbly accept the Word God has planted in your hearts, for it has the power to save your souls.”

22 “But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. 23 For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. 24 You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like. 25 But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.” James 1:22–25 (NLT)

Bible “STUDY” requires:
- writing down what I learn
- talking about what I learn

“You search the Scriptures because you think they give you eternal life. But the Scriptures point to me!” John 5:39 (NLT)

“The people of Berea were more open-minded than those in Thessalonica, and they listened eagerly to Paul’s message. They searched the Scriptures day after day see if Paul and Silas were teaching the truth.” Acts 17:11 (NLT)

4.- I

& IT WITH MY MIND

“But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.” James 1:25 (NLT)

“Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.” Joshua 1:8 (NLT)

“But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.” James 1:22 (NLT)

24 “Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. 25 Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock. 26 But anyone who hears my teaching and doesn’t obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. 27 When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash.” Matthew 7:24–27 (NLT)
