Our world is filled with counterfeiters and imitations. The world has a counterfeit or an imitation for everything, including religion. Peter, in our section this morning, warns us about these false and destructive doctrines.

Wherever the Lord is working, the devil is as well.

We need to understand that our enemy, Satan, is the great imitator. Our enemy has an approach, that up to now, has worked wonderfully, so he has never had to adapt his approach.

1. Questioning the Word of God. He does by using deceit.
2. Denying the Word of God. They deny the inspiration of the Bible, the sinfulness of man, the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ, salvation by faith alone, and even the coming judgement of believers and non-believers alike.
3. Replacing the Word of God. Their doctrine center around fulfilling our fleshly desire.

So why would anyone follow them if they are not teaching the truth? There are several reasons: They tell us what we want to hear, is the main one.

This morning we need to settle the issue of salvation in our own hearts. Salvation begins with:
1. Repentence.
2. Believing.
3. Commitment.
