When My World Collapses

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, Do not rely on your understanding; In all your ways know Him, and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6 (CSB)

in the Lord. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart”

How can I gain trust in the Lord?

spent with God.

How can I gain trust in the Lord?

• By

Bible reading will build our trust in God. To know Christ is to spend time with him.

“Do not rely on your understanding; In all your ways

Him.”

• Remove the

and on God and how God has come through for me in the past. “He will make your paths straight.”

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.” Psalm 34:18 NLT

“Blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence.” Jeremiah 17:7 NLT

(Kelly’s Testimony)

  • “Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.”* (Romans 5:3-5 ESV)

Though he brings grief, he will show compassion, so great is his unfailing love. (Lamentations 3:32 NIV)

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. (Hebrews 11:1 NIV)

Prayer:
“Father God, I don’t understand why life can be so painful even when I trust in your love for me. Help me to keep my eyes on you as I walk through difficult times and see the joy that can be found even in the midst of suffering. Thank you that even when I am full of questions, anxiety, and fear, you are right beside me. Thank you that you understand my grief and pain. Thank you that I do not have to walk through suffering alone or in my own strength. Thank you for comforting me and for never leaving me. Thank you that you have a future for me that includes healing and hope.”

I choose to Jesus through it and surrender to Him!

• Gods comfort is

when we continue to _through the Crisis.

• God __cares __about us! Principle 2 in Celebrate Recovery teaches us to, “Earnestly believe that God exists, that I matter to Him, and He has the power to help me recover.”

• We

to God!

• God knows the

we feel.

“Happy are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” Matthew 5:4

Jesus is telling us is if we turn our mourning to Him, He will comfort us.

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.” - 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (NIV)

• God is the God of all (Comfort).
• There is no (Crisis) too great for God.
• God can use our Crisis (to equip us) to (help others).
• God hears our (prayers).

“But in my distress, I cried out to the Lord; yes, I prayed to my God for help. He heard me from his sanctuary; my cry to him reached his ears.” (Psalm 18:6 NLT)

“When we are so weak that you cannot do much more than cry, you coin diamonds with both your eyes. The sweetest prayers God ever hears are the groans and sighs of those who have no Hope in anything But God’s love.” Charles Spurgeon.

“The best way out is always through.” Robert Frost.

Next Steps:

• I will trust Jesus in all things.
• I will surrender all to Jesus.
• I will worship Jesus through crisis.
• I will spend time in God’s word to know Jesus better.
