Luke 1:39-45 A few days later Mary hurried to the hill country of Judea, to the town where Zechariah lived. She entered the house and greeted Elizabeth. At the sound of Mary’s greeting, Elizabeth’s child leaped within her, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. Elizabeth gave a glad cry and exclaimed to Mary, “God has blessed you above all women, and your child is blessed. Why am I so honored, that the mother of my Lord should visit me? When I heard your greeting, the baby in my womb jumped for joy. You are blessed because you believed that the Lord would do what He said.”
- I play a part in receiving God’s blessing.
- Presumption: I can convince God to do what
- Faith: I am convinced God will do what
Luke 1:46-47 Mary responded, “Oh, how my soul praises the Lord. How my spirit rejoices in God my Savior!”

Psalm 42:5-6 Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise Him again— my Savior and my God!
Luke 1:48 For He took notice of His lowly servant girl, and from now on all generations will call me blessed.
- I am blessed
Hebrews 11:6 (ESV) And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who seek Him.
Luke 1:49-50 For the Mighty One is holy, and He has done great things for me. He shows mercy from generation to generation to all who fear Him.
- Jesus is so
Daniel 10:6,8-9 His body looked like a precious gem. His face flashed like lightning, and His eyes flamed like torches. His arms and feet shone like polished bronze, and His voice roared like a vast multitude of people… My strength left me, my face grew deathly pale, and I felt very weak. Then I heard the man speak, and when I heard the sound of His voice, I fainted and lay there with my face to the ground.
Revelation 1:14-15 His head and His hair were white like wool, as white as snow. And His eyes were like flames of fire. His feet were like polished bronze refined in a furnace, and His voice thundered like mighty ocean waves.
Revelation 1:17 When I saw Him, I fell at His feet as if I were dead.
Luke 1:51-53 His mighty arm has done tremendous things! He has scattered the proud and haughty ones. He has brought down princes from their thrones and exalted the humble. He has filled the hungry with good things and sent the rich away with empty hands.

Luke 1:54-55 He has helped His servant Israel and remembered to be merciful. For He made this promise to our ancestors, to Abraham and his children forever.”
