Some people find it impossible to believe in the impossible, but Hebrews 11 highlights a few stories to remind us that faith embraces the impossible.

How would you define a miracle?
What would you say is the purpose of miracles?

By faith he kept the Passover and the application of blood, so that the destroyer of the firstborn would not touch the firstborn of Israel. 29 By faith the people passed through the Red Sea as on dry land; but when the Egyptians tried to do so, they were drowned. 30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell, after the army had marched around them for seven days. 31 By faith the prostitute Rahab, because she welcomed the spies, was not killed with those who were disobedient. —Hebrews 11:28-31 (NIV)

Miracle #1 - Supernatural

is always possible.

Every single salvation is a miracle. The writer of Hebrews points to this by reminding what happened on the first Passover night.

Spend a moment to retell the story of the 10th plague (the angel of death).

The reason the angel passed over a house didn’t have anything to do with race, status, or gender. The issue that night was about the application of blood. And that is still the issue today.

How is the blood of Jesus connected to your salvation? … And what does that mean?

Miracle #2 - Supernatural

is always possible.

When the Jews left Egypt, they followed God to the edge of the Red Sea into what seemed like a trap. (Sea in front, mountains to the sides, and Egyptian army behind.)

Why would God lead them to this place?

Faith worth remembering must enter into the deliverance God offers.

Why do some people not enter into the deliverance God offers?

Miracle #3 - Supernatural

is always possible.

The next miracle the author of Hebrews reminds us of is the breaking down of the walls of Jericho.

Sometimes following God is about fleeing evil through the path of deliverance… And sometimes it is about breaking down the walls that are looming over you.

What walls stand in the way of you faithfully following God today?
