Our hope is reasonable.
Jesus’ tomb was
13 They told the soldiers, “You must say, ‘Jesus’ disciples came during the night while we were sleeping, and they stole his body.’ —Matthew 28:13
Jesus was seen by
6 After that, he was seen by more than 500 of his followers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have died. —1 Corinthians 15:6
Accounts of Jesus’ resurrection were written down
3 I passed on to you what was most important and what had also been passed on to me. Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said. 4 He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures said. 5 He was seen by Peter and then by the Twelve. 6 After that, he was seen by more than 500 of his followers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have died. 7 Then he was seen by James and later by all the apostles. —1 Corinthians 15:3-7
Our hope is realistic.
18 Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later. —Romans 8:18
Our hope is results-oriented.
19 And if our hope in Christ is only for this life, we are more to be pitied than anyone in the world. —1 Corinthians 15:19
3 I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them. 4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.” —Revelation 21:3-4
31 But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength.
They will soar high on wings like eagles.
They will run and not grow weary.
