My FAITH says YES
Scriptures: John 11:25-27 (NIV), Psalm 37:4, Proverbs 10:24, Matthew 15:22-28 (NIV), Matthew 9:27-29 (NIV)
1. “YES” EXPANDS
25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die;
26 and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”
27 “Yes, Lord,” she replied, “I believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.” —John 11:25-27 (NIV)
When our FAITH says YES to the fulfilling of the conditions of God’s promises, He says YES to the prayer of our requests.
OBEDIENCE and FAITH work hand in hand to be the YES to God’s Plan in our lives.
YES FAITH is more than positive thinking, it is an attitude established upon the Word of God and the Character of God.
EXPECTATION - What we expect comes from our desires.
DESIRE is a strong feeling with an intentional aim.
Where are your desires right now? Are you seeking after the things of God?
In order to get where we need to be with God spiritually…we need to make sure we are desiring the right things.
James 4:2b-4 says….You do not have because you do not ask. 3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures. 4 You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God?
If we will submit our DESIRES to GOD, that simple “YES” will EXPAND OUR EXPECTATIONS, then look what will happen.
Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. —Psalms 37:4 (KJV)
The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted. —Proverbs 10:24 (KJV)
2. “YES” BRINGS
22 A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is demon-possessed and suffering terribly.”
23 Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him and urged him, “Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us.”
24 He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.”
25 The woman came and knelt before him. “Lord, help me!” she said.
26 He replied, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.”
27 “Yes it is, Lord,” she said. “Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.”
28 Then Jesus said to her, “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.” And her daughter was healed at that moment. —Matthew 15:22-28 (NIV)
Where do you need deliverance?
This Canaanite woman needed deliverance for her daughter.
The disciples told her NO.
Her race and ethnicity told her NO.
Culture was trying to CANCEL her with a NO.
Even what she heard from Jesus seemed to sound like a NO.
But because she knew Jesus was able, and it was possible, and deliverance was the only thing that would save her daughter and heal her family – Her FAITH Said YES!
3. “YES” MEANS
& WHOLENESS
People Who Said YES to GOD!
Here are some of the ordinary, flawed, messed up, scared, and insecure people in the Bible who said YES to God not knowing what was up ahead or what that would mean for their lives.
• Noah said YES when God asked him to build the ark.
• Abraham said YES when God asked him to sacrifice his only son.
• Joseph said YES when God asked him to forgive his brothers who beat and sold him into slavery.
• Moses said YES when God told him to go to Pharaoh and ask him to let the Israelites go.
• Rahab said yes when asked to hide the Israelite spies and risk her own life and the lives of her family.
• David said YES when God asked him to fight the giant Goliath with only a slingshot and a few stones.
• Esther said YES when Mordecai told her to go to the king to save her people.
• Daniel said YES when God told him not to bow down and worship other idols.
• Mary said YES when the angel told her she would carry our Savior, Jesus.
• The disciples said YES when Jesus asked them to leave everything behind and follow him.
• Paul said YES when God asked him to deliver the good news of Jesus to the Gentiles.
Three things to understand about saying YES to God:
• IT MAY BE HARD.
• IT MAY BE UNPOPULAR.
• IT MAY BE UNCOMFORTABLE.
27 As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed him, calling out, “Have mercy on us, Son of David!”
28 When he had gone indoors, the blind men came to him, and he asked them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” “Yes, Lord,” they replied.
29 Then he touched their eyes and said, “According to your faith let it be done to you”; —Matthew 9:27-29 (NIV)
YES HE CAN!
What NO have you been dealing with lately?
Where does healing need to happen in your life right now?
“DO YOU BELIEVE THAT GOD IS ABLE TO DO THIS?”
It doesn’t matter how long it has been like this…or what you have been through…
LET YOUR FAITH SAY “YES” today!
Can Jesus:
HEAL YOU – YES!
DELIVER YOU – YES!
SAVE YOU – YES!
