When does a person receive the Holy Spirit? What is the Spirit’s role in the life of the believer?
How would you describe/define “the flesh”? In what specific areas does your flesh seem to rear its ugly head most often?

How do you know when you are following the lead of the Spirit? Is there a way to know for sure?
Why is it that sometimes we do not sense or recognize the conflict between the desire of the flesh and the desire of the Spirit?
What happens to the conscience of the person who repeatedly gratifies the desires of his flesh?
Read 1 Peter 1:3-6 and Philippians 2:12-13. What is the proper balance between the power and leading of the Spirit and the diligence, discipline, and obedience of the believer?
