Nehemiah 7-9

“We Build from Here”

1. Chapter’s 1-2 we saw Nehemiah’s interest and concern for Jerusalem and the remnant.
* His brokeness and cry over the condition of Jerusalem.
* His commissioning by the king to rebuild the city.
* His critique of the condition and preparation to rebuild.


2. In chapter’s 3-6 we saw that many different people were assigned to help rebuild the walls of the city.
* They were attacked in different ways.
* They were attacked by slander, conspiracy, and treachery.
* Each form of attack involved the enemies attempt to incite fear in the hearts of the people!
* Nehemiah encouraged the people, “….Do not be afraid of them; remember the Lord who is great and awesome, and fight for your brothers, your sons, your daughters, your wives and your houses.” (4:14)


3. The favor of God enabled Nehemiah’s plan to be accomplished in only 52 days!
* His plan involved: deadlines, documentation, decisions, delegation, defense, and definite end date!
