Group Leader Guide

Open with a short prayer and ask God to bless your discussion time.

ICE BREAKER

  1. Highs and Lows: Ask each person at the table if they wish to share a highlight or lowlight of their week.

  2. Question: If you are at the zoo, what animal do you enjoy watching most and why?

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

What is your circle of influence? How has it changed in the last five years? Five months? Some of us aren’t even aware we HAVE influence but as God’s ambassadors on earth, we are all leaders. We say it ALL the time: everyone wins when the leader gets better.

To lead is not necessarily to be BIG. As you saw in the message, our teens are leading the way in compassion by being aware of their peers and their needs.

God asserts His authority over the chaotic darkness to create life that will flourish.

1.Where do you have the greatest sense of authority in your life - what are you an expert in?
2.How is God stretching you this week?
3.Where is your life flourishing?

One of our church codes is WE ARE ALL WORKS IN PROGRESS. We define this as “We are committed to growing and believe that Jesus is never done with us.” Another way to say it is: no perfect people allowed! Much like the danger of stagnant water, if we aren’t moving, we aren’t growing.

4.How do you remain vulnerable and open to change?
5.How is God encouraging you to grow in your circle?
6.Where do you see others growing?
7.What books or tools help you learn how to grow?

MOVING FORWARD

Another church code to focus on this week is three simple words: we speak life. It’s defined as “we are encouragers, truth speakers, grace givers, and gossip intolerant in a “help me understand” community.” Especially in this upcoming week, keep this code close to your heart as you guard your mouth.

8.Where could God lead you in the next three months?

CHANGING YOUR MIND

This week, do something for someone who has no way to pay you back. Compliment a stranger, hold the door for a busy mom, and reach out to a friend that you’ve been meaning to get in touch with. Be a ray of sunshine, be a beacon of joy, relax your shoulders, unclench your jaw, and let the never-ending, never-failing love of God shine through you. Be kind, be in prayer, and know that you are loved.

HOW CAN I PRAY FOR YOU THIS WEEK?
