
It’s All About Love

Let love be your greatest aim. – 1 Corinthians 14:1
“The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” – Mark 12:29-31
Everything you do must be done in love. – 1 Corinthians 16:14
Three things the Bible says about love:
I. We love because God
Love comes from God for God is love. —I John 4:7-8
We love because God first loved us. —I John 4:19
We know and rely on the love that God has for us. —I John 4:16
I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. —Ephesians 3:16-19
II. Love is a
You can make this choice by loving the Lord your God, obeying him, and committing yourself firmly to him. This is the key to your life. —Deuteronomy 30:20
III. Love is an
Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth. —I John 3:18
Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? —James 2:15-16
Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first. 5 Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. —Revelation 2:4-5
