Angels, Part 1
When the servant of the man of God got up early the next morning and went outside, there were troops, horses, and chariots everywhere. “Oh, sir, what will we do now?” the young man cried to Elisha. —2 Kings 6:15 (NLT)
“Don’t be afraid!” Elisha told him. “For there are more on our side than on theirs!” Then Elisha prayed, “O LORD, open his eyes and let him see!” The LORD opened the young man’s eyes, and when he looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire. —2 Kings 6:16-17 (NLT)
After sending them out, the LORD God stationed mighty cherubim to the east of the Garden of Eden. And he placed a flaming sword that flashed back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life. —Genesis 3:24 (NLT)
“I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this message for the churches. I am both the source of David and the heir to his throne. I am the bright morning star.” —Revelation 22:16 (NLT)

What are the angels, then? They are spirits who serve God and are sent by him to help those who are to receive salvation. —Hebrews 1:14 (TEV)
For through him (Christ) God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see— such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him. —Colossians 1:16 (NLT)
Angels are innumerable and powerful. (Daniel 7:10; 2 Kings 19:35)
Ways that Angels Serve Us
• Care and encouragement (1 Kings 19:5-7)
• Rescue (Acts 12:1-11)
• Protection (2 Kings 6:8-23) (Doug Connelly, Angels Among Us)
• Guidance (Acts 8:26-40)
• Announcement of God’s plans (Luke 1:26-38)
• Comfort (Acts 27:23-24)
• Participation in our prayers (Revelation 8:2-4)
The Big Takeaway: Just as God expresses His love for us through people, He also expresses His love for us through angels.
