Over the past 5 weeks, the ask has been to think about a specific relationship that could use some repair.

We’ve also said, the goal isn’t

. The goal is .

And after everything we’ve talked about, we’ve come to see that repairing a relationship is NOT intuitive.

If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. —Romans 12:18 NIV

16For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. —John 3:16-17 NIV

I will get back to, NOT back at.

Reassembly always begins with us, regardless of who initiated the fuss.

To begin the process of restoration & repair in your broken relationship:

Picture the

relationship.

3 things to think through as you picture it:

1) The foundation of healthy relationships are not transactional.
2) Healthy relationships assume the best about others.
3) True friends can say: “I want what’s best for you, even if it’s not best for me.”

4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8Love never fails. —1 Corinthians 13:4-8 NIV

But the Jewish leaders incited the God-fearing women of high standing and the leading men of the city. They stirred up persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them from their region. —Acts 13:50 NIV

19Then some Jews came from Antioch and Iconium and won the crowd over. They stoned Paul and dragged him outside the city, thinking he was dead. 20But after the disciples had gathered around him, he got up and went back into the city. The next day he and Barnabas left for Derbe. —Acts 14:19-20 NIV

36Some time later Paul said to Barnabas, “Let us go back and visit the believers in all the towns where we preached the word of the Lord and see how they are doing.” 37Barnabas wanted to take John, also called Mark, with them, 38but Paul did not think it wise to take him, because he had deserted them in Pamphylia and had not continued with them in the work. 39They had such a sharp disagreement that they parted company. Barnabas took Mark and sailed for Cyprus, —Acts 15:36-39 NIV

Paul reconciles:

My fellow prisoner Aristarchus sends you his greetings, as does Mark, the cousin of Barnabas. (You have received instructions about him; if he comes to you, welcome him.) —Colossians 4:10 NIV

Only Luke is with me. Get Mark and bring him with you, because he is a great help to me in ministry. —2 Timothy 4:11 NET

Forgiven people who believed the right thing didn’t change the world…
The

and did.

If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. —Romans 12:18 NIV
